Cara & Khiana - Family Session
I had posted a Easter Special for anyone interested back in South Dakota since I was planning on going back home for Easter, and luckily enough Cara wanted to take advantage of that special for her and her foster daughter. Cara used to be my boss back at Indian Motorcycles when I worked there in 2015-2017 as an Apparel Sales Representative. I was ecstatic to get to work with her again, but in a completely different setting.
The day of the session had finally came, and we were excited. Cara wanted this session to be close to her heart and to get meaningful photos that she could cherish forever. So we chose the Park that is behind her parents home where she grew up in Whitewood, South Dakota. Getting there a little early I got to help Cara and Khiana, her foster daughter, pick out the perfect outfits. Then with their cute little doggos, we heading to the park.
I am trying this new thing where I have all of my clients take one Polaroid photo so I can look back at all of the clients I have had in the past. So we started off with that. I put a little R&B on to be playing in the background, because that is Khiana’s type of music and we got to creating some beautiful photos.
Khiana being in the fifth grade, we got to highlight some of her enthusiasm and “run-way modeling” poses as we went. Something all parents should remember is kids are going to be kids at the end of the day, and I love when my clients feel like they can be theirselves around me! I want them to feel comfortable, and that is exactly what Khiana did. She could be goofy, fun and playful throughout the photographic experience and I LOVED it.
From standing to sitting, from laughing to serious. We got a bunch of really amazing photos that I am so excited that Cara and Khiana get to look back on and cherish forever.
I love having people that I know super well be added to my client list. Because they know me, and I know them. And I really get to capture their personalities in my artistic element of photography.
Check out some of my favorites from our session!
