Family Portraits - Tips & Tricks before our session

I want to make sure you are prepared for this session so I am going to be providing you some tips & tricks!

Outfits for the session

  • Outfits can make or break a photoshoot. So I would highly suggest picking a color palette and finding outfits for each person within that color palette.

  • I have attached a few color combinations below that look well together for spring colors. (Color inspiration for you)

  • I would always suggest the girls be in dresses (It provides more working angles and is more appealing in photos)

  • Wear something that you feel good in. If you already don’t like how you look in the outfit, you are not going to like the photos.

  • I would stay away from everyone wearing jeans. -- it ends up blending and looks a little funny in photos.

A few days before the shoot:

  • If you plan to do the following, please do so at least 48 hours before the session:

    • Spray Tans

    • Waxing

    • Dying of hair

  • Make sure to steam or iron all clothes -- I do not edit wrinkles :)

  • Send Raven any inspo poses if you want anything specific! She will try and incorporate that into the session in her style.

The day of the shoot:

  • Do not wear glasses/ball caps at least two hours before the session. Tell your husbands... ;)

  • If you have kids, tell them that we have a planned activity for the entire family, but don't tell them it's a photoshoot. They normally get nervous and cranky before the session.

At the session:

  • Remember to just smile at the camera - I will handle the kids.

  • Relax & have fun! It will go by quickly. :)

Here are some color pallette that I suggest sticking to.
