Vehicle Session Preparation Guide
I want your session to feel effortless and enjoyable, so I’ve put together a short guide to help you prepare. A little planning beforehand makes a huge difference in how your photos turn out!
Getting Your Vehicle Photo-Ready
Your vehicle/motorcycle is the star of the show, and I want it looking its absolute best. Please make sure it is fully cleaned and detailed before your session — inside and out if we'll be shooting any interior shots.
A few things to keep in mind:
Wash and dry the exterior thoroughly and remove any water spots or streaks.
Wipe down chrome, rims, and any metal details. They catch the light beautifully and you'll notice every smudge in photos.
Remove any clutter from the interior if we plan to shoot inside the vehicle.
If your vehicle has any personal touches or custom details you love, let me know! I want to make sure we highlight what makes it special.
The more polished your vehicle looks going in, the less we have to worry about in editing.
You're In the Photos Too — Look the Part!
You'll be featured in a good portion of the session alongside your vehicle/motorcycle, so I need you looking just as sharp. Think classic, clean, and confident. This is your moment to look as cool as the ride.
A few styling tips:
Choose an outfit that complements the style and era of your vehicle. A vintage muscle car calls for something different than a sleek modern motorcycle. Lean into the vibe.
Avoid busy patterns or loud logos. Simple, well-fitted clothing always photographs best.
Make sure everything is wrinkle-free and steamed or ironed beforehand as the camera picks up every crease.
Choose outfits that make you feel confident. If you feel good in it, that energy will come through in every single photo.
If you're ever unsure about what to wear, send me a photo, I'm always happy to help.
Hair & Grooming tips:
Make sure hair is styled and groomed before arriving. There's no touch-up time built into the session, so coming ready means we make the most of every minute.
Slightly fuller makeup tends to photograph better than everyday makeup for women.
Avoid heavy shimmer or SPF-heavy products as they can reflect light in photos.
Guys — this means you too. A fresh cut or a clean shave goes a long way.
**Also, please avoid wearing sunglasses or a hat for at least two hours before we meet. They can leave marks and indentations on your skin that are really difficult to edit out.
A Few Days Before Your Session
If you plan on doing any of the following, please schedule them at least 48 hours before your session:
Spray tans
Waxing
Hair coloring (I would recommend a week before our session)
Also, please make sure outfits steam or iron all outfits beforehand so everything photographs beautifully.
If you have any inspiration images you love, feel free to send them my way. I’ll happily incorpoate the feel of them into your session while still keeping everything true to my style.
What to Bring to Your Session
Most sessions are simple and relaxed, but a few small items can make things easier:
Any props you would like - Blankets, books, flowers. Whatever vision you have in mind, I am here for it.
Any detailing items incase the vehicle/motorcycle gets dirty on the way to the session.
Water to stay hydrated as these shoots can get hot.
If you’re bringing little ones, their favorite small snack or toy can also be helpful between photos.
Trust the Process
My goal during your session is to create images that feel natural, connected, and genuine. Whether this is a passion project, a milestone moment, or just a long overdue tribute to something you've poured your heart into — I want these photos to do it justice.
I'll guide the entire session so you always know where to be and how to move. The best photos happen when you're relaxed and just enjoying the moment with something you love.
So show up, have fun, and let me take care of the rest.
Cannot wait to get you in front of my camera
