Bruno & Henley - Pet Portraits
When I knew that I wanted to shift my photography niche to only Pets & Portraits, I finally pulled the trigger to get studio equipment, and it was the best decision I ever made.
Everyone meet Bruno (White & Brown - Male) & Henley (Brown - Female)!
When your bestie, Kyra, has two beautiful dogs, and has always wanted to invest in some Pet Portraits, she was ecstatic when I told her I needed some Dog Models for my new studio. Not even after 48 hours of having my studio fully set up and operating, we got Bruno & Henley in front of the camera.
Henley was first! She is the most loving pup ever. It is not hard to melt into her puppy dog eyes as she puts her head on your lap to get some attention. She can also be shy, depending on who she is around. To our surprise she was so comfortable with the noise from the camera & the strobe flashes. She stole the show. Did she have some delicious meat dangling behind the camera the whole time? Maybe, but it worked. ;) We then moved on to try and capture some action shots of her with a tennis ball, because that is her favorite, it got a little crazy, but we managed to get some amazing shots.
Next was Bruno. This big guy is coming in at 80lbs… yup, you heard me right. 80lbs of pure sweetness and smarts. At this point, there was three dogs, and three humans in my 44ft fifth wheel, and there was so much happening at once, it was hard for him to concentrate, which I don’t blame him lol! So we ended up taking a break to eat some dinner. Once we were all wrapped up eating, Mr. Bruno ended up going up into the studio and laying on the backdrop. So I got up slowly, trying not to get him excited, and went and got some of my favorite shots of him.
Now on the the best part of the session… trying to get both Bruno & Henley laying next to each other. As you can see in the lineup of photos below, there is ONE photo that has three dogs… yup. My pup Wren wanted to part take in pictures too LOL!! So as Kyra and I are trying to wrangle the dogs together, Wren jumps in and WOULD NOT LEAVE! As we were all laughing hysterically at the fact that my pup was being the biggest goof call ever, I finally had to say “Sorry sis, but you aren’t part of the family, GET OUT!” lol She was not happy and stormed off to her bed.
Moral of the story, the results from this session was worth the chaos of three dogs in a 44ft fifth wheel trailer.
